Truth

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,[b] she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:6

God is Sovereign.  God made everything from nothing.  God made man in his image, we are the crown of creation.
If God is the God we believe him to be, who creates and loves and orchestrates huge events from the beating of butterfly wings and the birth of babies to hurricanes and earthquakes, it would make sense that he would do what is best for us, the creature he designed to be with him.

Eve chooses what is good in her own eyes.  She decides what is good and acts according to her own created understanding of what is best for her.  She decides what is true for her.

When we decide what is best for us, we choose to live independently of God.  We too often choose what we think is best for us without ever considering that God already has a plan and purpose for us that is perfect.

If we are most satisfied in God, God will be most glorified in us.

In other words, knowing the truth that only within the boundaries/rules/lifestyle that Jesus has shown us can we be really, truly, deeply, immensely happy.  Joy is found in the truth of Scripture.  When we delight in God and he is our greatest desire, he will give us that desire through satisfaction.

So, how do we go about doing that?
Here are some passages of Scripture to sift through this week as we understand Jesus Christ to be the All-Satisfying Savior.

Who Jesus is:
Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life. John 14:6
John 7:38 - Living Water

Build on a Solid Foundation of Truth.
Luke 6:46-49 - Wise and Foolish Builders
Acts 4:11 - Jesus is the Cornerstone on which to build.
John 1 - Jesus himself is the Word.
John 6:63 - The Words of Jesus are spirit and life.
John 6:68 - Only Jesus has the Words of eternal life.

Questions
- How has your family built a foundation of truth in your home?
- How has knowing what is truth and what is a lie made a difference in your life?  In your family's life?
- Perhaps parents would be willing to share how they have seen the truth change their life.

Continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.  2 Tim. 3:14-15

Growing up into mature manhood in Christ, knowing him is our foundation on which we can stand regardless of the teachings that surround us. Ephesians 4:14

Thank you all for being a part of what's happening at Mosaic.
